Surfers and cyclists in North Devon will soon be able to step aboard the UK’s first surf-cycle bus this summer which will be unveiled for the first time at the Goldcoast Ocean fest at Croyde on June 17th. (11.30am)
The double decker bus has been specially adapted to carry 47 passengers as well as surf boards and bikes. This will enable cyclists and surfers to enjoy a dedicated and sustainable bus service in North Devon, which is one of the UK’s leading surf venues. The lower deck of the bus has been fitted with bespoke racking for surfboards and bikes while passengers are seated on the top deck....

Libbear Barton, which is based at Shebbear near Beaworthy has won the Highly Commended award for best family holiday alongside the Atlantis, the Palm in Dubai in the prestigious Junior Magazine Design Awards 2011. The overall category winner went to the Ulusaba private game reserve in South Africa which is owned by Richard Branson....
North Devon+ is appealing to local businesses to pledge up to £50,000 in sponsorship to support its bid to host the Atlantic Watersports Games which could mean a £14 million boost to the North Devon economy this summer.
North Devon+, the tourism and economic development partnership, is leading an initiative to secure the 2011 Atlantic Watersports Games for the area after Wales, which was due to stage the event, was forced to pull out due to budget cuts. The Atlantic Watersports International Committee has approved North Devon as a potential host for the Games but £50,000 in sponsorship is needed from local businesses within the next two weeks to allow the Games to go ahead....
