Bournemouth Jazz Festival
The Bournemouth Jazz Festival takes place in Bournemouth and is now celebrating its second year.
Drum legend Ginger Baker, and top singer Jacqui Dankworth are just two of the names featuring in an expanded 2016 Bournemouth Jazz Festival (22 - 24 April).
This year the Festival will also feature a World Jazz Jamboree featuring jazz styles from Africa, Europe, India, The Middle East and South America. A "Jazz Village" in Bournemouth Town Centre with a live music stage, food and drink stalls and a programme of 'street jazz'.

Bournemouth Jazz Festival announce world premier of new Jazz by the Sea video
Bournemouth Jazz Festival is delighted to announce the world premier of a new short documentary video entitled “Jazz by the Sea” at this year’s festival which takes place in Bournemouth town centre over the weekend, 22/23/24th April.

Brittany Ferries to promote jazz on Cross Channel Ferries
Bournemouth Jazz Festival is delighted to announce Brittany Ferries has agreed to award a special travel prize to the winners of the Jazz Factor, a competition for young musicians taking place in the Pavilion Ballroom on Sunday 24th April as part of this year’s Bournemouth Jazz Festival. Jane Mercer from the Brittany Ferries Community Relations Team said, “Brittany Ferries are proud to support the Bournemouth Jazz Festival and look forward to greeting the winning jazz band on board.”

Major new sponsor announced for Bournemouth Jazz Festival
A major new sponsor has been announced by Bournemouth Jazz Festival. Ferndown based Independent Financial Advisers, Atkins Bland Ltd, has agreed to be the main sponsor of this year’s Festival and the JaZz Factor workshops for local young musicians taking place on Sunday, 24 April 2016.

Heart op causes Baker to cancel Festival Appearance
Bournemouth Jazz Festival was sad to learn this weekend that legendary drummer Ginger Baker requires urgent heart surgery and as a result is cancelling all forthcoming bookings. Mr Baker was scheduled to headline the Bournemouth Jazz Festival on Saturday 23 April.

The Z factor contest at Bournemouth Jazz Festival
This year’s Bournemouth Jazz Festival, taking place 22nd – 24th April is launching a new exciting contest aimed at young musicians and supported by the John Thornton Young Achievers Foundation (JTYAF). Several local schools and colleges have already signed up to compete in the event which as part of the Jazz Festival will give young players a real opportunity to develop their skills and work with professional musicians.
