Somerset Leisure is a non- profit making leisure trust which is the largest provider of leisure activities in Somerset. The leisure trust delivers a wide range of sports, leisure, learning, health and well being services across 13 leisure centres across the county which are located on shared school sites. It also provides an outdoor activities programme based at the world-renowned Hestercombe Gardens. It promotes health and well being to the local community. As a leading employer in the area the trust works with a strong partnership of education and training providers to deliver skills training for the sports and leisure industry.

AHFPR’s remit was to raise the profile of the trust as a new brand name within the regional media and the local community, and to establish it as a high quality provider of leisure services and skills training for the sport and leisure industry in the South West.

1610 heralds a new era in community sport for Somerset Leisure
Somerset Leisure Trust is making its mark with a major new re-brand, 1610 has been selected as the new name for the Leisure Trust which manages 13 leisure centres across Somerset. 1610 was chosen as the exciting new name as it represents the number of square miles in Somerset and while the trust is keen to establish a new, modern and vibrant brand for itself, it still wishes to retain links with its community roots in Somerset.

The work carried out is 'done when Gail says she's going to do it', and always carries the right content and tone to get the media interested. Gail has opened doors for us - getting us onto local radio slots, on TV and regularly in the press and towards the top of the Google search information files. Gail knows the way to make what we all see as an everyday piece of work into an interesting and stimulating and of use to media presenters. She talks staff through what they need to do, taking the fear out of giving an interview, even on TV. As an ex producer her insight and networking links have been invaluable. She's always been professional, with sound advice. Her work has given us excellent publicity at an affordable rate!
